How many times have you said there are not enough hours in a day?

I work for myself.
My time is my own.
So why am I always working?
Will I ever make enough money to slow down?
How can I be more productive?

Does this sound like you?

It's not easy being your own boss. But if, like me, you have chosen to be an entrepreneur, chances are you have realized that the benefits outweigh these potential downsides.

I love working for myself.

But sometimes I dream about having a day job I can leave at the office.

Working for yourself can be a challenge.
While it can offer flexibility, freedom and empowerment,
self-employment can also mean:

  • Less job/income security without a steady paycheck
  • A lack of accountability for business goals
  • Little or no collaboration with peers
  • Lack of confidence and awareness of best practices
  • Loneliness when working alone most of the time
  • A never-ending list of things to do

The key to being a happy entrepreneur is developing productive habits and finding tools and tricks to make life easier.

Work Smarter Not Harder

I love sharing ideas, suggestions, tools and tips on being more productive and running a WordPress website agency or small/solo business. I frequently read about and practice new ways to be more efficient and effective at serving my clients and operating my business. Whether it is a digital tool to help with productivity, a strategy to enhance the services I offer my clients, or a WordPress plugin that will improve the performance of the websites I create, sharing information with you is a way for me to document my progress as a business owner, while helping others who may be on the same path.

2021 Year In Review

By tara | January 14, 2022

2021 Review Last year was hard. The novelty of isolation wore off. Life was supposed to return more to normal, but it never really felt normal, and maybe never will. I was a bit less motivated to make changes, and that’s ok, because I am pretty happy with my routines and habits. I lost two…

2020 (and 2019) Year In Review

By tara | January 6, 2021

I prepared two versions of my 2020 review: one here which focuses on business goals and plans, and another, on my personal blog, which focuses on personal development. I didn’t do a year in review for 2019 (in fact, I didn’t publish any blog posts after November 2019) , which would have been helpful as…

The Miracle of a Paused Inbox

By tara | November 22, 2019

I have been on a super Unproductive streak lately. Why? Because I have been avoiding things like writing blog posts and other “frogs” I don’t want to do by using my Inbox as a To Do list. Constantly checking email gives me something to do besides what I am supposed to be doing. It is…

Creating Content For Your Website Is Much More Than Writing

By tara | September 23, 2019

I just completed a three day workshop called Content Camp. This event was geared toward all types of business owners and agencies, and was jam-packed with informative and well-organized lessons and worksheets. Content Camp was created and run by Jennifer Bourn, a successful agency owner, marketer and blogger. About 60 guests were greeted warmly with…
